In China, a woman in her 40s named Wu was found after being stuck in an elevator for 30 days in her apartment complex. It is said that repairmen turned off the power Jan. 30 because the elevator had malfunctioned in between the 10th and 11th floors. They had called out to make sure there was nobody inside and heard no response. This was against protocol, though, where you are supposed to pry open the door instead of just calling for someone.

This is the second incident that people were left in the elevator for dead. Last year a 31 year old woman and a 4 year old boy were found in an elevator in a shopping mall.

Chinese people are beginning to protest about the maintenance in poorer places in China. The quality of living in the poorer areas in China are awful and should be looked at by the government. That fact that someone was left in an elevator for a month in unacceptable. The people are correct in protesting over this and the lack of quality living in some places in China. Human rights needs to be improved in this country.
