Immigration is one of the most debated topics in this years’ presidential election. As a nation of immigrants, America has a very interesting relationship with immigrants seeking asylum within her own borders. Recently, the Justice Department has started providing training for Federal judges to help remove bias in the important decision of: Deport, or not deport?

The bias they are fighting against is not racial as some would expect but are biases like ageism. Do they have a higher probability to deport someone who is young than someone who is older? If they do, is that a bad thing? These types of moral and legal questions are becoming more and more prevalent as the Obama Administration continues to push for faster deportation levels. This moral dilemma likely has no clear answer but it does shed some valuable insight on how our culture is changing.
