Hurricane Matthew is the biggest natural disaster in Haiti since the devastating earthquake the country suffered 6 years ago. The Haitian coasts were destroyed by 145 mph winds and torrential rain fall, sweeping away, building, personal property and livestock.

Thousands are scrambling for shelter as the level 4 hurricane passed through the country of 11 million on Tuesday morning. Over 14 thousand people have been evacuated from their homes and 2,200 homes have been flooded. The Haitian government has reported that five people have died and 10 have been injured in the hurricane, with another Haitian missing.

A hurricane warning has been issued for Haiti, the Bahamas, Cuba and parts of Florida.
