Satire is increasingly appropriate as response to ISIS’s media announcements. Karl Sharro, a Lebanese-Iraqi descendent living in London, gives us an example: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, ISIS declares that The Final Battle of The Apocalypse has been postponed.” Recent events include successful offensives from Turkish, Iraqi, and US-backed militants. Namely, the ISIS opposers have taken Dabiq, a village they had controlled for quite some time and which was their prophesied location for an end-of-days battle.
