Canadian Brewery, Labatt, is one of Canada’s largest breweries. For many years, working there meant a lot of things, including perks. The most famous of these perks was that retirees get free beer for life…until now.
Due to financial cut backs Labatt, who is owned by Beer Giant Anheuser-Busch InBev, announced that over the next two years they would gradually close the tap for their former employees.
“It’s certainly not the way it was in the past, when there was fanatical devotion to the brand and the company,” said Mr. Bridger, who is also chairman of the Canadian Brewery Council. “Today it’s just a job.”
A moment of silence is due for Retirees of Labatt all over Canada.
