On Tuesday, November 29, a plane filled with athletes, reporters, coaches and crew members took off from Santa Cruz, Bolivia to Medillin, Colombia for a championship soccer game in the South American Cup, only to crash into the mountains . The plane was carrying 77 people. Only six survived.

The Chapocoense team had an exciting season, transforming from the underdogs to competitors of the largest championship in South America.

Loved ones, fans, and the world is in shock over this tragedy. My roommate flew out of the same airport in Bolivia on that very day, and I can only imagine the devastation of losing someone to such a horror as this.
