Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court, Neil Gorsuch, has been getting a lot of press, and rightfully so. With there having been two open spots for so long, one of the most talked about issues during the election season was over how each nominee would fill the open spots. Two two new members of the court could tip the scales in favor of Republican or Democrat views for the next generation, since Justices serve until they pass.

Since not a lot of people are familiar with Neil Gorsuch, it’s interesting to see where political commentators think he will fall on the scale. He is a Republican nominee, and while he’s pretty conservative, The New York Times doesn’t consider him the most conservative justice. That title lies with Justice Thomas, who was nominated by George H.W. Bush.

It will be interesting to see if Gorsuch lives up to the predictions surrounding him. It’s not surprising that Trump would nominate someone more conservative, but nobody really knows what the courts will decide.
