Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany and Prime Minister Theresa May from Britain face a difficult situation as the Brexit is becoming a reality. Just last week they canceled a bilateral meeting after just a brief meeting. Their positions were shown as they have interacted with President Trump. With Great Britain’s split from the EU, many accuse Britain of becoming “America’s lap dog.”

It will be interesting to see where the relationship between these two woman and their respective countries will be following Britain’s exit from the EU. This causes more thought into what Britain will do following the split. Theresa May promised a “Global Britain” and I wonder if she will attempt to cozy up to the United States to fulfill that promise. With the Brexit I think there will be significant changes to the relationship of countries within Europe and the relationship of those countries to the United States; the question is, will it be a good change.
