It’s no secret that President Trump has repeatedly shown support or praise for Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, although it baffles republicans and democrats alike. He has also expressed desires to “forge an American-Russian alliance”.

Just before Michael Flynn resigned from his post as a national security adviser, there was a proposal delivered to lift sanctions against Russia and entails a peace plan between Russia and Ukraine. Even though Flynn is gone, the proposal remains. While many say it is just a way to end conflict and create peace between the states, also has a twist– the Ukrainian lawmaker, Andrii V. Artemenko, is rallying to overthrow the current Ukrainian president on grounds of corruption, claims to have support from top officials under Putin, and is discredited by Ukrainian officials.

It now becomes a concern that President Trump will attempt to create good relations with Russia at Ukraine’s expense. What would that lead to in terms of foreign relations?
