President Donald Trump has the lowest approval rating at this point in office of any president since Gallup began tracking in this area in 1953. This disparity is due to an extreme disapproval among Democrats and Independents, but not those of the President’s own party.
According to Gallup, President Trump currently has about 88% approval amongst Republicans, with Independents and Democrats reporting 38% and 10%, respectively. Though the GOP seemed fragmented during the primaries, they seem to have united behind the new president. Interestingly, George W. Bush is the only Republican president to have had a higher approval rating than Donald Trump at this point in office.
