After the executive order banning immigrants from 7 countries, airports went into mass chaos. Not only this but the travel ban caused immigrants with green cards to be barred from the states and those who had gotten into the country to be stopped at the airports. This new executive order is said to have new provisions, one of which is excluding Iraq. Many were concerned with Iraq’s part in this order due to the country being a key ally in the fight against the Islamic States. While some provisions of the new order are relaxed, President Trump and his administration assert that it is no less strict. This new order is just one of several security measures being taken. 5,000 new Border Patrol agents are to be hired as well as Customs and Border Protection has begun accepting design proposals for a wall along the border with Mexico. Another provision that has been discussed is requiring visitors to list websites they have visited so they can see what they have been looking at.

I find the “new” travel ban to have almost no noticeably differences. Excluding Iraq changes the ban a little, but everything else seems to stay the same or even be more extreme. If the court blocked the executive order before this I find it hard to believe that they won’t block this one as well. It will be interesting to see how the courts react and if Trump will continue with his policy of extreme security.
