“A Day Without a Woman” Strike is scheduled in the upcoming week, it will be lead with the initiative to educate and raise awareness towards gender equality. This strike was founded by many of the leaders who led the Womens March on Washington in January.

Two school districts in the south are closing because of this strike, but not because of what you would think. They have so many employees participating in the strike and taking time off that the school officials worry the school will be unsafe with a lack of employees. The districts have come forward to explain that the closure is only for safety and not because they are for or against the strike. However, I think many in the community will see the closure as a sign of support towards the strike. My first assumption when reading the article was that the districts were in support of the strike, hence the close. Thus I assume others would have the same feelings and thoughts when not fully educated on the situation.
