The organizers of the January 21st Women’s March are calling upon women across the country to act again, but this time by taking the day off. “A Day Without a Woman” will be held on March 8th. Organizers are calling for all women to stay home from work and to avoid making any purchases in an effort to show the substantial impact women have on the nation.
Organizers are also calling on those who feel unable to participate directly to wear read in solidarity and to symbolize love and sacrifice.
Several schools across the country have already cancelled school on Wednesday in anticipation of the protest. The organizers of the Women’s March note that only one quarter of participants had signed up beforehand and are hoping for a similar turnout on the 8th.
