On Tuesday 14 March, Trump hosted Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, the son of the current king, Salman bin Saud for meetings and lunch. This actually represents a huge step forward for U.S.-Saudi relations. During the Obama administration, U.S.-Saudi relations hit a bit of a rough spot because of the Iran deal as well as other foreign policy decisions while President Obama was president. However, as both Trump and Prince Muhammad are trying to change the status quo in their own country, they may actually find an ally with each other.
