With the change of the presidency comes the changing of policies. How the policies change is also variable. However, is President Trump’s threat to kick out Republicans who did not stand behind his bill concerning Obamacare a legitimate way to use the power of presidency? And is the threat legitimate at all in itself? North Carolina Republican Representative Mark Meadows was told by Trump himself, “I’m going to come after you”. There have also been repeated warnings from President Trump to Republicans to not “blow it”. Can the president actually follow through on his threats? Will he, if he has the ability to do so?

Trump’s only real moves seem to be based on power plays. He isn’t able to talk his way through it, so he uses power. It’s a tactic that I think will come back to bite him, and I’m concerned that it may come back to bite all of us at the end of the day. He needs to learn how and when it is appropriate to open his mouth. As the nation’s leader, he is acting more like Regina George than the POTUS.
Although there are some major issues and problems with the Trump Presidency, it is interesting to me how well Donald Trump has done. He hasn’t even been in office yet for 100 days and he has already bettered the oil crisis, Libya crisis, and inner-country conflicts. He may have a big mouth and make large threats, but we need to look at where he is and where expected he would be. Many people expected a disaster with his presidency, but ignoring the threats (because he never acts on them), and by only looking at the actions that have come through. Trump is turning out an alright person for President.
Although I do not agree with the way that President Trump goes about things, and I do agree that sometimes he handles things the wrong way, the media also does a good job in making President Trump seem and come off much worse than he is. I’m not saying these things are necessarily false, I am saying that the media has this power over President Trump because people believe absolutely everything the media says about him.
